Germany, Dr Klinghardt is Founder of the American Academy
of Neural Therapy (www.neuraltherapy.com),
Medical Director of the Institute of Neurobiology and Lead
Clinician at the Comprehensive Medical Centre, all located
in Bellevue, Washington State.
Dr Klinghardt has studied and worked with a vast range of
leading-edge diagnostic and therapeutic systems for more than
three decades. During the 1970s, whilst still at medical school
in Germany, he studied acupuncture and homoeopathy. After
gaining his medical degree, he studied psychology and gained
an MD for his work on the autonomic nervous system. Very early
on in his career he became aware of the interdependence between
emotional and physical health as well as the sequelae of chronic
toxicity, especially mercury, for the course of illness. During
an extended period as a junior physician in India, he naturally
met Eastern concepts of disease aetiology and blended them
with his classical Western training. Thus, the foundations
for his remarkable system of Integrated Medicine were laid.
After emigrating to the United States, Dr Klinghardt worked
firstly as an emergency physician and later became Medical
Director of one of the country's largest Pain Clinics. It
was there that he became more and more aware of the limitations
of conventional medicine when dealing with chronic conditions,
and in particular functional and pain syndromes. At this point
he started to incorporate into his work Neural Therapy, as
well as new advancements in energy medicine and psychotherapies
such as EMDR techniques and Mental Field Therapy.
In recent years, Dr Klinghardt has made very significant
contributions to the understanding of metal toxicity and its
connection with chronic intracellular infections, such as
Lyme Disease, and persistent illness and pain. He is considered
a worldwide authority on this subject and is a highly respected
teacher. As one of the most successful clinicians in modern
medical history, he has published extensively and established
a comprehensive programme of training courses. One of the
latest additions to his diagnostic and curative methods is
systemic family therapy according to the German psychotherapist
and philosopher Bert Hellinger.
Dr Klinghardt's unique approach to diagnosing and treating
diseases and disorders on both the functional-physical and
mental-emotional levels represents a new paradigm of Integrated
Medicine, which recognises that health is significantly influenced
